We carry a thoughtfully selected range of yarns chosen for first projects. Forgiving to work with, easy to see your stitches, and priced so a learning mistake doesn't sting. If you are taking a class or picking up needles for the first time, start here.

You will find trusted everyday brands like Lily Sugar’n Cream cotton, Bernat Blanket, and Patons. These are the yarns people learn on, soft and easy to handle, and they wash well once your project is done.

Our featured yarn comes from Queen City Yarn, a small-batch hand-dye studio here in Charlotte. Each base is dyed in one-pound lots, with hundreds of colorways across handpainted and coordinating tonal pairings. These are apparel-grade yarns for sweaters, shawls, socks, and colorwork. We will be adding more colorways and lines over time.
